Libya and Chad Form Joint Military Force to Secure Shared Border

Libya’s General Command announced an agreement with the Chadian army to establish a joint military force tasked with securing the border and combating banditry and criminal activity.

The force will be deployed in border areas under the supervision of Libya’s General Command and in full coordination with the Chadian side.

The Military Media Division confirmed that joint patrols have already begun along the frontier, in a move aimed at bolstering security and curbing irregular migration.

Chadian army commander Mohamed Suleiman said the formation of the joint force reflects growing military cooperation between the two countries, adding that it will strengthen national security and stability in both Libya and Chad.
