The Nigerian army has reported that four soldiers were killed and five others wounded after insurgents attacked troops in Ngamdu, in northeastern Borno State.
According to a military statement, the attackers used sophisticated weapons, including rocket launchers, armed drones, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) targeting military vehicles and personnel.
Reinforcements from the 29th Task Force Brigade were deployed to the scene and managed to repel the assault, though several military vehicles were damaged.
Army engineers later cleared the Ngamdu–Damaturo highway after discovering IEDs planted by the insurgents. The statement added that at least 15 attackers were killed in the clashes.
The incident is part of a wave of escalating attacks by Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) against military installations in the region.
