U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he would consider allowing Israeli forces to resume military operations in the Gaza Strip if Hamas fails to comply with the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
In a phone interview with CNN, Trump said that Israel would restart its operations “as soon as I give the order,” stressing what he described as Israel’s ability to “wipe out” the resistance in Gaza.
The remarks come amid ongoing regional tensions, following the recent release of 250 Palestinian prisoners as part of a swap deal, while more than 10,000 others remain in Israeli jails.
Since October 2023, Gaza has suffered massive human losses, with nearly 68,000 Palestinians killed and more than 170,000 injured, under dire humanitarian conditions marked by famine and widespread devastation.
