The Israeli strike on Iranian targets has triggered a wave of international responses ranging from condemnation and concern to calls for restraint and support for self-defence rights.
Saudi Arabia denounced the Israeli actions as “a blatant violation of international law and diplomatic norms,” stressing that the international community and the UN Security Council bear a significant responsibility to halt the aggression immediately.
China expressed its “grave concern,” condemning the Israeli strikes as a violation of Iranian sovereignty and affirming its intent to contribute to de-escalation efforts.
Russia stated that Israel had “deliberately opted for escalation,” while Turkey criticized the move as evidence that Israel “refuses to resolve issues through diplomatic means.”
Egypt condemned the military strikes as a dangerous regional escalation that threatens Middle Eastern stability.
France called on all parties to exercise restraint, reaffirming Israel’s right to defend itself while reiterating its concern over Iran’s nuclear program.
In the United States, former President Donald Trump stated he had been informed in advance of the operation and reiterated his stance that “Iran must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.”
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged “calm and a return to diplomacy,” while Germany reaffirmed Israel’s right to protect its citizens and national security.
The Israeli operation, described as one of the largest in years, has heightened fears of a broader conflict, as major powers scramble to contain tensions before they spiral out of control.
