Iran launched a large-scale ballistic missile attack on Israel this evening, in retaliation for an Israeli airstrike earlier today targeting Iranian military and nuclear facilities, which killed several senior commanders, including Quds Force leader Esmail Qaani.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the start of “Operation True Promise 3,” confirming that Israeli military bases were targeted.
Israeli media reported missile impacts in various areas, while the Iron Dome defense system intercepted part of the incoming barrage.
Israeli authorities urged civilians to take shelter, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened an emergency security meeting.
The escalation comes amid growing warnings from Arab and international actors about the consequences of a direct confrontation between Tehran and Tel Aviv, with fears of a wider regional conflict looming.
