African Perceptions – Correspondent in Northern Mali
Sources on the ground have confirmed to African Perceptions that the “Alla Ag Albachir” katiba, affiliated with the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA), planted landmines along the path of a Malian army logistics convoy heading toward the military garrison in Aguelhok, northern Mali.
According to preliminary reports, a landmine exploded under one of the vehicles, causing material damage. No confirmed details about casualties have yet been released.
Well-informed sources also report that an armed convoy belonging to the FLA is currently moving in close proximity to the Malian army convoy, raising the likelihood of imminent clashes.
The “Alla Ag Albachir” katiba is considered one of the key armed wings of the FLA, operating mainly in remote mountainous areas of northern Mali, especially around Kidal and Timbuktu.
