Nigeria to deepen ties with Tunisia on Trade, culture

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, has pledged Nigeria’s commitment to deepening collaboration with Tunisia in areas of mutual interest, including trade, education, culture and security.

Tuggar made this known in a statement on Friday in Abuja to congratulate Tunisia on the occasion of its Independence Anniversary.

Tuggar in the statement by Kimiebi Ebienfa, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, congratulated his counterpart Mr Mohamed Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad of Tunisia.

Tuggar said, “This historic day marks a significant milestone in Tunisia’s journey as a sovereign nation, reflecting the resilience, determination and unity of the Tunisian people in their pursuit of freedom, peace, and prosperity.

“Nigeria commends Tunisia for its remarkable achievements in nation-building, democratic governance and socio-economic development.

“As fellow members of the African Union and the broader international community,

Nigeria and Tunisia share a commitment to fostering peace, stability, and sustainable development on the continent.

“We value the strong bilateral relations between our countries and look forward to deepening our collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including trade, education, culture, and security.

“On this auspicious occasion, Nigeria reaffirms its solidarity with the Republic of Tunisia and expresses its unwavering support for Tunisia’s continued progress and prosperity. “

The minister expressed confidence in the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations, saying they would continue to grow stronger in the years to come.

“We, therefore, wish the government and the people of Tunisia peace, prosperity, progress and Nigeria’s continuing friendship, and support,” he said.
