Local sources say a drone strike attributed to the Russian Africa Corps targeted the Tin-Ateyara area in northern Mali overnight.
According to the sources, the strike hit an artisanal gold mining site, causing casualties among civilians from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger working in nearby mining areas.
No official casualty figures have been released, and the reports could not be independently verified.
The same sources also reported additional drone strikes in the surrounding area, although no casualties were reported from those incidents.
Neither the Malian authorities nor the Russian Africa Corps have commented on the reports.
