Algeria Condemns Attack on Niamey Airport, Reaffirms Support for Niger

Algeria has strongly condemned the terrorist attack targeting Diori Hamani International Airport in Niger’s capital, Niamey, reaffirming its full solidarity with Niger and its support for the country’s efforts to combat terrorism.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 18 June 2026, Algeria expressed its deep concern and strong condemnation of what it described as a terrorist attack aimed at undermining Niger’s security and stability.

The statement reaffirmed Algeria’s full solidarity with the people and government of Niger, while reiterating its support for the Nigerien authorities in their fight against terrorism.

Algeria also stressed its commitment to strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation to confront terrorist threats, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts to preserve peace, security, and stability across the Sahel region.
