Sudan’s Doctors Network reported that at least nine people — including four children and two women — were killed, and seven others injured, in a suicide drone attack targeting a kindergarten and a rural hospital in the Kalogi area of South Kordofan.
The network described the attack as “deliberate,” attributing it to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North.
According to witnesses and local sources, the attack consisted of three separate strikes: the first hit the kindergarten; the second was launched after residents gathered to assist the wounded; and the third struck the hospital during the evacuation of casualties, destroying a large part of the medical facility.
In a statement, the network held the RSF leadership “fully responsible” for the incident and urged the United Nations and human rights organizations to take concrete action to stop attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
This attack is part of an escalating pattern of assaults on healthcare facilities in Sudan. Since the conflict began in April 2023, the World Health Organization has recorded nearly 200 attacks on medical centers, resulting in more than 1,700 deaths among healthcare workers and patients.
