Niger’s Defence and Security Forces have announced the outcomes of their latest operations, which resulted in the neutralization of 27 armed militants and the arrest of 18 additional suspects across several areas of the country.
The army described the joint operations as “bold air and ground maneuvers.”
According to a military statement broadcast on national television, two individuals also surrendered in the Diffa region in the far east of the country.
The operations led to the seizure of a range of weapons and ammunition, including firearms, hundreds of rounds, as well as vehicles, motorcycles, and other logistical and military equipment used in armed activities.
These actions form part of ongoing security efforts by Nigerien authorities to counter armed groups and organized criminal networks nationwide.
