Chad officially declares the end of the cholera outbreak

Chad’s Ministry of Public Health of Chad has officially declared the end of the nationwide cholera outbreak, after 28 consecutive days without any new confirmed cases.

In an official statement, the ministry said the declaration complies with international standards recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Task Force on Cholera Control, which consider an outbreak to be over once this period has passed without new reported cases.

The WHO country office in Chad confirmed the announcement through its official social media channels, formally closing the chapter on the cholera outbreak in the country.
