Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, described negotiations aimed at solidifying the Gaza ceasefire as entering a “critical” phase, noting that international mediation is working to move toward the next stage of the truce.
His remarks came during the 23rd edition of the Doha Forum, attended by Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Al-Thani highlighted the global justice crisis, stating that “the world is witnessing an unprecedented escalation of crises due to the absence of accountability,” adding that the international system turns into “a collection of unfinished solutions” when governed by force rather than law.
Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan addressed the forum on the proposed “stabilization force” for Gaza, affirming that negotiations continue regarding its mandate and rules of engagement.
He explained that the core objective of such a force would be “to separate Israelis and Palestinians along the borders.”
The Doha Forum was held under the theme: “Advancing Justice… From Rhetoric to Real Impact,” with sessions taking place over Saturday and Sunday.
