Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, is set to host the 12th session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD) from 28 to 30 April 2026, bringing together major regional and international institutions.
The organizers — the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, in cooperation with the African Union and the African Development Bank — announced that the forum will be held under the theme: “Reversing the trend: transformative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063.”
As Africa’s continental preparatory meeting for the UN High-Level Political Forum, the event will focus on monitoring progress toward global and African development goals.
The forum will feature an in-depth review of Africa’s performance across a set of interconnected objectives, including access to clean water and sanitation, sustainable energy, support for industry, innovation and infrastructure, urban sustainability, and the strengthening of partnerships to achieve the goals.
The upcoming session follows the 11th edition held in Kampala last year, which focused on job creation and economic growth.
