U.S. to Boycott G20 Summit in South Africa

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will boycott the upcoming G20 Summit set to take place in South Africa, declaring that no American officials will attend.

Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump called the decision to host the summit in South Africa “disgraceful,” repeating his claims that the country’s white minority is being subjected to “killings and slaughter.”

He added that Washington will not participate as long as what he described as “human rights violations” continue, revealing plans for the U.S. to host the G20 summit in 2026.

The move comes amid rising diplomatic tensions between Washington and Pretoria, driven by disputes over South Africa’s land reform policies and its stance on the Palestinian issue.
