Somalia’s Ministry of Defence announced that the national army successfully rescued 30 civilians who had been held hostage and killed three Al-Shabab militants during an operation in the Lower Shabelle region.
According to the official statement, the operation — carried out near Bula Madina — resulted in the destruction of an illegal detention site and a makeshift court the militant group used to intimidate and control local residents.
The ministry said the operation is part of an ongoing security campaign aimed at tracking and dismantling Al-Shabab networks, emphasizing that these efforts are intended to enhance public safety and stability across the country.
