Pakistani Airstrikes on Afghanistan Kill Dozens of Civilians

Pakistani airstrikes on areas in eastern Afghanistan early Tuesday have killed at least ten civilians, including women and children, and injured four others, according to Afghan government sources.

The strikes targeted the Khost and Paktia regions, with an Afghan official accusing Pakistan of “violating the ceasefire agreement” recently reached during the Istanbul talks.

The attacks came in retaliation for an armed assault that left three Pakistani security personnel dead at a police station near the Afghan border in Peshawar.

Relations between the two countries remain increasingly strained, with Islamabad accusing Kabul of allowing the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to operate freely from Afghan territory.
