Eyewitness accounts obtained by Reuters have revealed horrific abuses committed by Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against civilians in El-Fasher during the first days of their control of the city.
Witnesses reported that RSF fighters fired indiscriminately at civilians in the streets, used drones to target people, and intentionally ran over residents with military trucks.
Several civilians were also abducted, according to the same sources.
One witness described seeing “fifty or sixty people killed in a single street” by RSF gunmen, who then moved to the next street to continue the killings.
He added that injured people and elderly residents unable to flee were executed inside their homes.
Other witnesses said drones were tracking and attacking any gatherings of civilians, leading to dozens of casualties.
These events unfolded amid a complete communications blackout, which has isolated the city and made independent documentation nearly impossible.
