South Africa Condemns Israel’s Seizure of Aid Flotilla as a “Serious Crime”

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has condemned Israel’s interception of the Global Resilience Flotilla bound for Gaza, calling it a “serious crime” targeting international solidarity with the besieged enclave.

In a statement issued Thursday, Ramaphosa demanded the immediate release of all South African nationals and other participants, including Nkosi Zwelivelile Mandela, grandson of the late Nelson Mandela.

He stressed that the move was an assault on humanitarian efforts aimed at alleviating suffering in Gaza, reiterating South Africa’s rejection of any actions that obstruct aid delivery to the Palestinian people.
