Moroccan authorities reported that 286 people, including 263 security personnel, were injured during a wave of protests across several cities in the kingdom.
Interior Ministry spokesman Rachid El Khalfi said the demonstrations saw a “dangerous escalation,” turning into “violent gatherings” involving the use of knives and Molotov cocktails.
The ministry also reported extensive property damage, with 142 police vehicles and 20 civilian cars damaged, along with government, banking, and commercial institutions vandalized in multiple provinces.
Meanwhile, the Public Prosecutor’s Office announced legal action against 193 suspects, with 16 placed in prison. A total of 409 individuals were arrested and taken into custody.
The protests continue in several Moroccan cities, with demonstrators demanding better healthcare and education services and stronger action against corruption.
