Israel carried out 12 airstrikes on various areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, marking a significant escalation following the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah.
The strikes targeted the districts of Nabatieh, Sidon, Marjayoun, and Bint Jbeil in the south, as well as Baalbek in the east, hitting locations between towns and several industrial facilities.
The bombings caused massive explosions and bright flashes that lit up the night sky, triggering panic among residents. No casualties have been reported so far.
The Israeli army claimed that the strikes targeted “terrorist infrastructure” belonging to Hezbollah, including underground weapons storage sites.
The escalation comes as Lebanese President Joseph Aoun warned against the spread of the Gaza conflict into Lebanon, amid mounting tensions along the southern border.
