Israel Attacks “Global Resilience” Humanitarian Flotilla, Seizes Ships in International Waters

The Israeli navy attacked the “Global Resilience” humanitarian flotilla on Wednesday evening in international waters, ordering it to head to the port of Ashdod, while communication with Al Jazeera correspondents on board was cut off.

Sources reported that Israeli forces seized 13 ships from the flotilla and detained dozens of activists after a large-scale blockade operation involving nearly 20 Israeli warships.

The flotilla, made up of 44 vessels carrying hundreds of activists from more than 40 countries, had set sail from Spain at the end of August in an attempt to break the blockade on Gaza.
