Ethiopia has announced that it has completed preparations to host the 11th edition of the Tana Forum on Peace and Security in Africa, following several years of suspension.
This year’s forum will be held exceptionally in the cities of Bahir Dar and Addis Ababa.
The 2025 edition features an unprecedented participation of special envoys for the Horn of Africa, including representatives from the United Nations, various countries, and senior government officials such as foreign ministers.
Discussions will focus on pressing regional challenges, including the Sudanese crisis and the future of the African Union Mission in Somalia, with the aim of developing a common cooperation agenda to address these issues.
Launched in 2012 as an initiative of the late Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, the Tana Forum is one of Africa’s leading informal platforms for dialogue on peace and security across the continent.
