France urges lifting of U.S. ban on Palestinian officials, reaffirms support for two-state solution

French President Emmanuel Macron voiced his firm rejection of the U.S. decision to deny visas to Palestinian officials for the upcoming UN General Assembly in New York, calling the move “unacceptable” and urging its reversal to ensure full Palestinian representation.

In a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the two leaders agreed to co-chair an international conference on the two-state solution, scheduled to take place in New York on September 22, aimed at rallying broad international support.

Macron stressed that no military operations or annexation attempts would stand in the way of the growing momentum for the recognition of a Palestinian state. He further emphasized the need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all prisoners, unimpeded humanitarian aid access, and the deployment of stabilization forces in the Strip.
