Gunmen killed at least two people and abducted more than 100 others—mostly women and children—in a deadly attack on Gamdom Malam village in Adabka district, Zamfara State, northwestern Nigeria.
Village head Mohammed Mai Angwa reported that the attack occurred on Saturday afternoon, when armed men stormed the community on dozens of motorcycles and opened fire indiscriminately.
Resident Hudayfa Isa said the attackers split into two groups: one abducted people and livestock, while the other set up a blockade at the main entrance of the village, shooting at anyone attempting to flee.
Zamfara has long been an epicenter of frequent armed bandit attacks, making travel and farming extremely dangerous for local residents.
