Nigeria: Over 40 missing after boat capsizes

The National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria reported that more than 40 people are missing after a boat carrying around 50 passengers capsized while heading to the popular Goronyo market in Sokoto State, northwestern Nigeria.

Rescue teams managed to save 10 passengers, while search operations are still ongoing in coordination with local authorities to locate the missing.

This tragedy comes just three weeks after another boat accident in Niger State, which left 13 people dead and dozens missing.
