The 20th Conference of the African Security and Intelligence Committee (CISSA) convened in Benghazi, bringing together representatives from the intelligence services of 53 African countries, along with delegations from Arab and foreign states.
Held under the theme “Preventing Conflicts and Protracted Wars in Africa”, the conference focused on mechanisms to reduce crises and develop strategies to address their root causes, with the aim of strengthening peace and stability across the continent.
The opening session was chaired by General Hussein Mohamed Al-Ayeb, head of Libya’s intelligence service, with the participation of observers from Gulf countries, Europe, and the United States.
