UK Resumes Diplomatic Relations with Syria

The United Kingdom officially announced on Saturday the resumption of diplomatic relations with Syria, during a visit by Foreign Secretary David Lammy to Damascus.

In an official statement, Lammy said the move aims to support Syria’s new government in efforts to enhance stability and improve economic and security conditions, expressing optimism for a better future for the Syrian people.

During his visit, the British foreign secretary declared a “renewed hope for the Syrian people”, stressing London’s intention to support Syria in achieving stability and prosperity.

The statement also emphasized that the decision is part of a broader effort to strengthen cooperation in security and economic fields, with a focus on building a safer future for all Syrians.
