The death toll from the devastating floods that struck the U.S. state of Texas has risen to at least 120, while 161 people remain missing, according to local authorities on Wednesday, July 10, 2025.
Kerr County alone reported 96 fatalities, including 36 children—many of whom were attending a girls’ summer camp.
The updated figures come five days after flash floods swept through multiple counties, some occurring during the night.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott warned that the number of missing could rise, noting that the current list is based on reports from family members and friends.
He confirmed that five campers, one counselor, and another unrelated child are still unaccounted for.
More than 2,200 rescue personnel continue operations in affected areas, using helicopters, drones, and trained search dogs, though hopes of finding survivors are fading.
The floods have impacted several parts of the state, including Central Texas, the Hill Country, the Big Country, and the Concho Valley.
