Saudi Ministry of Hajj mandates official permits for pilgrims, warns against fake campaigns

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that all individuals wishing to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this year (1446H) must obtain an official permit via the “Tasreeh” digital platform, integrated with the unified “Nusuk” system for issuing pilgrimage authorizations. The ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations to ensure pilgrims’ safety and ease of movement.

It further clarified that all visa types, including visit and Umrah visas, do not entitle their holders to perform Hajj, except for those holding a valid Hajj visa. Attempting to undertake the pilgrimage without a permit is a violation of Hajj regulations and may lead to legal consequences.

Warning against fake Hajj campaigns

The ministry also warned of the spread of misleading advertisements on social media promoting fake Hajj campaigns that falsely promise housing and transportation services within the holy sites. It urged the public to be vigilant and avoid dealing with such suspicious offers.

Citizens and residents are encouraged to report any fraudulent activity by calling 911 (in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province), 999 in other regions, or by contacting the appropriate authorities in their respective countries.

Umrah pilgrims’ departure deadline

The ministry further stated that the last date for Umrah pilgrims to leave the Kingdom is Tuesday, 1 Dhul-Qi’dah 1446H (April 29, 2025), as preparations begin for the Hajj season.

These directives reflect the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to regulate the Hajj process and ensure a safe and smooth experience for pilgrims, in alignment with Vision 2030.
