The Sudan Doctors Network reported that more than 200 people, including women and children, were killed in attacks targeting the areas of Umbro-Serba and Abu Qumra in Darfur, western Sudan.
According to the network, citing testimonies from survivors who fled to Chad, the victims were targeted on an ethnic basis in assaults attributed to the Rapid Support Forces, which it described as serious violations of international humanitarian law.
The attacks have triggered a large-scale displacement toward neighboring Chad, where those fleeing are facing dire humanitarian conditions, including acute shortages of food, water and healthcare, as well as a lack of safe shelter.
The Sudan Doctors Network called for an immediate halt to the violence, unhindered access for humanitarian assistance, and urgent support for affected civilians.
