Northern Afghanistan Earthquake Kills 20, Injures Over 300

At least 20 people were killed and around 320 others injured after a powerful 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck northern Afghanistan, according to local authorities.

The quake hit near the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in Balkh Province, triggering panic among residents who rushed into the streets fearing aftershocks.

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Health said the toll remains preliminary, warning that rescue efforts are being hampered by poor infrastructure and difficult access to remote villages affected by the quake.
