Several Killed and Injured in Armed Attack in Nigeria

Nine people were killed and four others injured in an attack carried out by Boko Haram in Borno State, northeastern Nigeria, according to authorities on Sunday.

State governor Babagana Zulum stated that the militants launched the attack on the Malam Fatori area, though he did not specify the exact timing.

The region lies near the border with Chad, about 270 kilometers from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

Boko Haram remains active in the area, launching periodic attacks. Humanitarian organizations report that the group’s violence has resulted in thousands of deaths and the displacement of at least two million people from their villages.
