Morocco’s leadership in social entrepreneurship and economic empowerment was showcased at the Social and Inclusive Business Camp in Abidjan, organized by the French Development Agency (AFD).
Representing Morocco at the event, held until April 8, is the « El Khir » Association from Essaouira, led by its founder and president, Souad Dibi.
This continental gathering brings together 45 female leaders from 15 African countries to develop innovative, inclusive solutions for equitable development.
The bootcamp marks the culmination of a six-month training program aimed at strengthening participants’ skills across various sectors such as agriculture, textiles, and cosmetics. It also provides a platform for women to exchange expertise, receive coaching, and seek funding for their initiatives.
Through its participation, « El Khir » Association strives to highlight Morocco’s significant experience in promoting social entrepreneurship and sustainable development in Africa. « It is a great honor to represent Morocco at such a prestigious event, which fosters learning, collaboration, and a more inclusive future for the continent, » Souad Dibi told MAP.
Under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco continues to champion social entrepreneurship as a strategic path to sustainable and inclusive growth, with a strong focus on women’s empowerment. Dibi emphasized that Morocco has stood as a key player in inclusive innovation and economic autonomy, recognizing social entrepreneurship as a vital driver of development.
Founded in 1998 in Essaouira, « El Khir » Association has evolved from a local initiative into a leading example of associative leadership in Morocco and Africa. Its selection for this event underscores its 27-year commitment to social innovation and equal opportunities.
The association actively contributes to building a more equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem in Africa, aligning with Morocco’s South-South cooperation vision. With its recognized impact and ability to unite partners, « El Khir » serves as a catalyst for economic autonomy and an inspiring model for women’s empowerment across the continent
