Former South African president Jacob Zuma has expressed his want to make a comeback to power to “fix things” that have worsened in the country since he was ousted in 2018.
He made the announcement while addressing a prayer service at the Nazareth Baptist Church in Ndwendwe, northern KwaZulu-Natal (Durban) on Sunday.
“The manner in which they (the incumbent ANC leadership) have behaved has motivated me to want to come back because I want to fix things,” Zuma said.
Former president Zuma claimed that he was removed from power before his second term had ended “because I was trying to solve problems experienced by the poor.”
“I was quickly removed before the end of my term as president because I was trying to change people’s lives but their behaviour has made me want to come [back]. I want to return to change our situation,” he told the audience.
