AFCON : Morocco take fantastic lead in Group F

Morocco enjoyed a 3-0 victory over Tanzania in their AFCONGroup F opener on Wednesday evening at Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro.

Coach Walid Regragui’s Atlas Lions squared off against the Taïfa Stars who have never won a match at the tournament.

As heavy favorites of the game, the Morrocans struggled to exert dominance. Minutes later, they took the lead whenHakim Ziyech curled free-kick resulted in Romain Saiss scoring the opener in the 30th.

Despite Morocco’s clear dominance, Tanzania opposed as hard as they could until they were reduced to ten after Miroshi was sent off on double yellows in the 70th. 

Therefore, Morocco took advantage of their extra player and seven minutes after the sending off, Azzedine Ounahi rose the score to 2-0.

In the 80th Ounahi crossed for Sevilla striker En Nesyri to tuck in the third (3-0) and ensure the Atlas Lions got off to a winning start.
